He received his Chevy 3100 truck June 28, 1957 and would use the truck to go visit local farmers to advise them on what to do with their land. In August 1962, dad bought the truck from the county when they retired it. Dad used the truck on our vineyard as well as back and forth to work. The truck got its "UNKLROD" name because dad was known in town as "Uncle Rod." My sister, brother and myself all learned how to drive a stick in this truck. Dad drove the truck up until 2005. When he passed away in 2007, he gave the truck to me. I spent the next 3 years restoring the truck back to the original condition. OLD OLD2 NEW NEW2 Jon Shippey San Francisco, Ca [email protected]

I can shoot myself - we had a '48 Chev 1/2 ton and a '48, 5 ton in a shed on the farm (sold '85). (I was conscripted at the time)
My grandfather didn't belive in selling Chevs and kept these two vehicles in good condition all those years !

I can shoot myself - we had a '48 Chev 1/2 ton and a '48, 5 ton in a shed on the farm (sold '85). (I was conscripted at the time)
My grandfather didn't belive in selling Chevs and kept these two vehicles in good condition all those years !

Its OK! I had the same thing happen to me...my mom and dad had a 1955 convertible VW Beetle and they sold it when I was born in 1968....for of all things...a VW Squareback! wish they would have kept that convert!
