For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2010 Posts: 109 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2010 Posts: 109 | I finally got the old 409 in the C-80 running again yesterday (kinda). It hadn't run right in about 4 years. It would run a few hundred yards then die. I had replaced everything electrical and all the fuel filters, I rigged up a 350 fuel pump and it ran. I noticed it was shooting gas out of the secondary vent so I figured it had the float stuck. I took it apart and the needle valves were both sticking closed! I cleaned them up and put it back together but apparently they're stuck again cause it won't get gas in the carb. Does any body still make needles and seats for these? I know parts are hard to find because Spanky called me several years ago looking for some.
