I swapped in a 1955 Car engine into my 1954 Chevy Truck. The old engine had a remote oil filter, the new one from the '55 doesn't appear to have the same connector.
Can anyone tell me if the '55 auto engine required a remote filter? I cannot find a filter space in that engine. I would think it would need one but I am a little confused as to where it would connect.

Carlos | | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | A filter isn't necessarily required, as it was optional on the 6 cyliders, but if you want to use the one from your original '54, it hooks up the same way. You'll have to swap the pressure gauge connector for the T connector from the original engine.
