For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2010 Posts: 54 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Feb 2010 Posts: 54 | I bought a lock knob for the drivers door on my 46 half ton (the original was missing), But now I can't figure how it mounts. There is no 1/4" square post and any locking bolt also seems to be missing. Is there a place I can find a drawing or exploded diagram of the latch/lock on this? Thanks in advance for any help, Wayne | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | Wayne, I'd try the online manuals. Heres the link. http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/ | | | | | Joined: Feb 2010 Posts: 54 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Feb 2010 Posts: 54 | I looked there last night but I found nothing that showed the lock on the inside of the drivers door. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 22 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 22 | There should be a square shaft that inner Knob bolts to. It operates a lever that, when turned horizontal, blocks the exterior handle. Hopefully the photos in the link make this clear. http://s880.photobucket.com/albums/ac8/46sask/Drivers%20Lock/ | | | | | Joined: Feb 2010 Posts: 54 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Feb 2010 Posts: 54 | 46sask THANKS! The pictures show what I need, I'm even wondering if the parts are laying inside the lock itself, I'll have to take it apart to check. Thanks again | | |
