Hi Again: I have been a member for several years but have just recently gotten my 1940 truck on the road. I posted in the Forum's but might have done it wrong or...so one more time.
I started with 2 truck almost 15 years ago that both came out of Saskatchewan, and bought and sold 2 more 1940's since then, one of those trucks going to Port Alberni, BC, where it should be on the road this year too. I still have most of a stock one left, but not sure what I am up to with that one. My idea was to get it on the road for my boys to drive when they Graduate from school, and then drive the wheels off of it. My Wife and I are really enjoying the time (only 5 weeks) and travels we have had so far. One of our boys says that all has changed since the truck got on the road, WE ARE NEVER HOME!! This truck has a 383 ci Chevy small block, running on dual 425 Impco LPG mixers for an est. 425 hp. 700r4 auto trans, and NP207 chain drive transfer case. Front clip from a 1986 S-10 Blazer and rear diff from a 1998 S-10 Blazer, disc brakes on all 4 corners. (Torsion bar suspension ( and am looking for S-10 ZR2 torsion bars as the engine is a lil big for that stock S-10 suspension.) Shortened S-10 Blazer column.
I hope this is the right path to get my truck in the Gallery. It has been a long road and I still have some little details (trim and a hood n sides) but it sure is fun to get peoples comments and Ooohs and Aaaahs and way fun to drive it. My wife says it is kind of loud when we're cruisin' the highway, but I hollered back that it was never meant to go 110 kph + . Enjoy the link

yeah boy. My kind of truck. Oh, my wife told me mine was loud to...even running the interstate but she had to live with it....for about 6 years THEN I finally put some Smitty's on it. Man, I sure do miss those straight pipes!!

Wow, its been awhile since I have been on the site. I still have the truck and enjoy the heck out of it! 2012 saw a move to Fort McMurray Alberta, and then back to Vancouver Island in 2020. About 22000 kms on truck currently. The truck has run pretty much flawlessly, aside from a failed MSD distibutor that neccesitated a $500/225 km wrecker ride home. Build em and drive em!!
Always good to hear from those who still are enjoying their old truck. That Gallery addition was 2010!
Maybe you can add some pictures of the truck? Some scenes shots would be nice.
