Anyone have any pics of what I need?
I have the ramp looking thing under there, but what do I need to hold the spare tire to it? I have a 48 (or so) truck.

If I can see a pic, then I can go find it.

Then,,, after I find out what I need, then where do I get one?

thanks!

Yes, hillbilly and Tom,
I have the ramp, as shown in hillbilly's post, and the first one of Tom's.

wow, that sure is a bunch of parts. I was just thinking a bolt or a clip.

Thanks for letting me know what I'm going looking for.

Oilrag. My spare tire rack looks like that and I have wondered what type of hanger it had. Are used pieces hard to find? I wonder what they would cost?

A while back there was a post asking for one. If I remember correctly, the asking price was in the $150 range, and they weren't jumping out of the woodwork. So, I would say that originals aren't plentiful.

Here is what I would suggest, ask questions. You have a good start here. Second get both the shop manual, and the assembly manual. I see that your truck looks mostly done. So take your time if you are looking for original parts. Some of the original parts for my 52 took a couple of years for me to find. Good clean parts at a fair price are getting hard to find. Have a mental list of parts. If you are at a meet or a junk yard or looking at ebay for something keep in mind the other things you are looking for. Keep in mind that certain car parts fit our tucks. Plus until you find the parts your truck has a built in tire carrier just behind the cab, theft issues not considered!! LOL jimmie
