Getting ready to mount an after market fuse panel and install my wiring.... Anyone have any ideas on how to do it? I want my engine compartment to look clean

First off thats some nice work your doing on the 38.
There will several options and hopefully more will chip in with what works for them. I keep my 37 firewall really clean by putting the fuse panel under the dash on the right side like a lot of vehicles are originally. The wires can be routed "down and under" the headers ect and along the bottom pan ect or some fancy $$ looms to hide them up top.
Generally to make them look real good you need a good set that you can make to length yourself and not the "standard" ones you get over the parts counter for OEM. In my experience there is always a couple that just don't fit!

How clean is "clean"? Little to no visible wires? Or just neat and orderly? Mounting the fuse panel like Achipmunk says is the best place to start for either one.

You can hide a good amount of the wiring in the frame rails with wire loom and clamps to keep it up in tight and out of sight, and the engine wiring can be run along the back side of the engine.

To just make it look neat you simply start at the fuse panel and run one wire at a time so that you can tie them in a neat bundle and then cover them with a wire loom and secure it with zip ties.
Either method just takes some time, you may have to mess with it a couple times to get it just right, but either way isn't terribly difficult.

Same as Alvin, I installed Fuse panel high up on right side kick panel. One large grommet thru firewall handles all motor & front end wiring. Wiring to starter is very short direct run. Wiring for lights, signals, fan, etc. can be run inside frame rail in plastic loom for a tidy look. Only " exposed " wiring would be for Alternator & elec. choke.

Thanks guys appreciate the input.... I would have mounted it on the drivers side but the pedals and column would be a pain... Right side it is.... I have my weekend plans now lol

My bright idea is to mount the fuse panel in the location as the stock one, and cover it with the stock fuse panel cover
