Any suggestions out there to replace my stock spring loaded bench seat for a modern one that would fit?
How to mount it?

No idea if it will fit or not, but I saw a seat in a 2005 Buick Lacrosse with a built in center console and seatbelts that would be slicker than snot on an onion. The console folded away for the third seat when needed.

How about the Lexus seats that have the center holes for air conditioning. That would be nice here in the south during the summer

NICE

I've heard of s-10 seat but no more info than that.

I too am looking to replace the stock spring bench with a more modern cloth bench of some sort (gotta still be able to have my honey slide on over, ya know).

I'll be watching this thread for useful info/experiences good or bad.

my friend put a 2002(?) LaSabre 60/40 electric and heated seat in his 49 pickup. I think from around 2000-2004(??) are the same. It was a little tight but it worked.

You set your new seat on the floor in your truch where you want it, determine if you need to make adapting brackets to make the legs/feet on your new seat meet the floor where the original seat did or replace the legs/feet assbly ithe custom items built by /for you. Reccomend you fasten the seats to the floor in the same place(s)the original seat was secured.
