Folks -

Got the 47 1 ton on the road! I rebuilt the carb yissterdiy, got it all back together and drove the truck home from the In-Law's ranch late this afternoon. The truck wanders like crazy and has VERY low power - I *may* have hit 25 MPH on the way home, but it took some coaxing of the accelerator to gain any meaningful engine speed - barely enough to qualify for "same day service"...

I'll have to do a tune up and run the valves. The engine RPM picks up off idle okay, but there's definitely a flat spot at 12 to 1500 RPM.

Got to change all of the fluids and do a chassis lube as well. Oh boy! Sure is fun having "Matilda" finally sitting in the driveway, pulling down property values 1 block in all directions.... Yipee!

Congrats! As far as the flat spot, I'm guessing it's fuel starvation. Check the fuel pump, filters, lines and tank. I bet you'll have it running strong in no time.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
