I have a 66 Suburban that I will probably have to replace the gas tank, rather than cleaning and sealing. I have seen the repops for the pickups to relocate from inside, but is there anyone out there that sells the original style suburban tank? Mine has a half moon in it for spare tire clearance, and I don't see this on the repops.
Thank you for your help.

Put it in the 60-66..ALSO, not instead of. Don't throw away your orig yet!! May not be a better choice. Someone will be parting one out near you someday. Keep checking your craigslist and ebay.
Good luck. Also would a panel truck have the same one?

....for what its worth. I couldn't get a repop for my 52 panel until about a year ago when JimCarter started having them remade. It may be worth a phone call to see if he by change has one. JimCarter also has some used stuff and may have a good tank in the back yard. Its worth a call.

I might add that the repop tank he is doing for my 52 Panel is "dead on" and is good quality. (Thanks JimCarter)

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.

I got a new tank for my 65 a couple years ago from a gas tank place online. It was an 80s Blazer tank and went in fairly painlessly. I did put in a new sender also and the guage works, but is about 80% accurate (better than nuthin).

Just to enlighten,
The gas tanks on 60-66 burbs and panels ARE Different.
60 thru 62 trucks had wider frame rails in the rear than 63 thru 66
because of the torsion bar front suspension and X frame design.
Try putting a 65 bumper on a 62.
It wont fit,The bolt holes are like 4" wider.
Tried to put a 62 chev sub tank in a 65 panel,NO GO
Tank TOO Wide,Trust me.
