It has a metal tube arm rest on one side.

There were no mounts in the middle for a full size seat. It does not mount properly in either position in the '54. It is mounted to 2X12s which are bolted to the floor.

My full width seat mounts in the middle just fine.
The guy I bought my truck from had a '61 Suburban, and didn't realize he had the same arraingement until AFTER he sold me the truck and the "spare" full-width rear seat he had for an extra $100.
He said "You can probably cut this one down to fit in the middle." I said "I think it'll fit as-is----here, watch..." and bolted it in place. He was sick when he realized it! He needed a full-width one for the middle of his '61, but was making due with the short one.
