The 216 and 235 engines from the forties and early fifties had a three or four letter prefix and the serials were just aft of the dizzy.
That would make your HAM engine a 1950 built in Tonawanda that was originally used in a car, and your JEA is -- I'm 90% sure on this -- a 1951 babbit pounding 235 built in Flint. Assuming, of course, that the "I" is a "1". | | |
