I'm in the mood to think about how I am going to redirect cables and wires so as not to run them through the firewall. I want to keep the firewall clean on my '54 truck. One thing I will do is not install the front fenders & inner fenders which will remove the temptation of mounting on those surfaces. Anyone know of sites that suggests hardware for channeling wires through the lower firewall or frame area?

I ran all my wires out the bottom of the cab. I used the old fuel tank well (under seat area) as a terminal point. All dash wires run to or from this point, same with engine wires and lighting. If I ever have a problem, I can go under the seat and diagnose it pretty fast. The few engine wires I have run along the left frame rail then out to the engine. I used all black wires to help hide them. The only trick was to get them under the carpet and up to the dash with out showing, going under the truck was the easy part.

There is a modular wiring system that use three modules one up front, one out back and the main one in the cab and only two wires to run out of the cab to the modules.

Joe H - That's a decent engine compartment on your truck. I was also thinking about running the wires inside of a loom along the inside rails. The other possibility would be to bring the motor wires up along the transmission then between the airgap on the intake manifold (Edelbrock Air Gap) inside of a stainless chase. I would have to check the temperature of the bottom of the intake to make certain they wouldn't fry inside. It's a good idea to put the fuse block undr the seat as it's accessable without trying to squirm under the dash. I'll think further about that. WE b OLD - looks like comfortable seats.......Dan
