HELLO FELLOW STOVEBOLTERS. HERES AN AMATEUR QUESTION FOR YOU. I OWN A 1950 CHEVY PICKUP WITH A 216 AND WAS WONDERING IF IT IS POSSIBLE TO SWAP MY INTAKE MANIFOLD AND EXHAUST MANIFOLD ON TO A 1957 CHEVY PICKUP WITH A 235. THE REASON I AM DOING THIS IS BECAUSE THE PREVIOUS OWNER OF THE 50 CHEVY SPLIT THE MANIFOLD FOR DUAL EXHAUST AND I AM NOW RUNNING FENTONS, SO I AM DONATING MY SPLIT EXHAUST MANIFOLD FOR MY FRIENDS 57 CHEVY 235. ANY HELP WILL BE VERY APPRECIATED. THANK YOU

No, you can't swap them without some work. The exhaust ports are different diameters. ie the holes on the 216 block are smaller.

I use 216 manifolds on 235 conversions all the time. I do make a bushing I install in the head so the alignment rings fit correctly.

I have not personally did this but I have followed previous threads. If my memory serves me correctly you can purchase those "bushings". Someone else will be along to say where. The bushings in the head make it fit better to the bigger 235 Exhaust manifold ports. Hope its clearer?

I bolted a 216 intake and exhaust manifold on a 235 and drove it for 6 months before teardown. I searched the forums and someone said just leave the rings out. So I did, bolted it on and drove away.
Good Luck.
