Its just about time for me to start buying body panels and patches for my '66 C10. I will need cab floors, cab supports, rockers, kicker panels, cab corners, and front door pillars for starters, more as we go. Yeah, I know....LOTS of rusty bits, but I am determined to save the old girl from the grave.

I am having trouble figuring out where to get them from though. There are a ton of sources, and it seems from reading this forum that they vary wildly in quality and fit. I would prefer American made panels (I realize this is tricky, and will use foreign ones if I have to), and would be willing to spend a little more for better quality parts. However, I am on a budget and need to control costs if possible, ie no way I can have them custom made etc!

Can any of you suggest a place or places that have a good reputation and won't kill the checking account TOO badly?

I have been to JimCarters in Kansas City Missouri and he has a lot of AMERICAN made panels. I do not know how many are USA that you need but I'd give him a call. He has been good over the years to try and do that plus he gives bolters a 10% discount and his shipping charges are actual cost.

I'm also not sure about the floor pans. When I did mine I notice some had only the FLOOR sections and some vendors had the floor sections WITH a half toe board all as one piece. Since my toe board was eaten half way up I used the one piece ones and it worked out good.
Since your on the west coast you may want to check in with The Truck Shop in Ca. but I can tell you their shipping charges are not friendly.
So, assess what you need, give JimCarter a call and ask for USA made panels and go from there.

You can try Brothers too. They are about 5-10 miles apart so I have been told. They are in Corona Calif.

Do you ever go to the Swap-Meets? There is one in Monroe this weekend.

I didn't know about those guys, thats not far from home and I wouldn't have to pay any shipping. I'm guessing you were satisfied or you wouldn't have mentioned them. I'll have to check them out...Is there an actual store, or is it on-line only?

I am taking my son to the Monroe swapmeet this Saturday as a matter of fact...Looks like its gopnna be a big one.

Yes, I have been happy with Dreamers. It's pretty much the same stuff that all the other suppliers offer with the same fit problems and frustrations (at least for my 55s). You may have better luck with the "newer" 1960s stuff. They do have a store in Everett and accept returns if I change my mind. All in all not a bad deal.

Don't know yet if I'm heading up to Monroe Saturday for the big selection or Sunday for the "I really don't want to take this junk home" again deals.

Heh heh heh. Yep, thats the timeless question....Sadly, it seems like every time I wait on something, its gone when I get back.
