I thought they were called carryalls because plymouth owned the rights to the name Suburban until GM bought the rights in the late 60s or early 70s.

Chevrolet used the name "Suburban" from 1935-1938 (although, at least one 1937 document used "closed suburban" and "Carryall suburban" for the CCS model/body designation).

In 1939, Chevrolet used the name "Suburban Carryall" (and, one year later, "Carryall Suburban"). Maybe the name change was a result of a dispute over ownership over the name; or, maybe Chevrolet/GM was just not consistent in how they used the name Suburban from 1935 onwards ("Suburban" alone and in combination with "Carryall")?

I thought it would be Cadillac or Buick?

The Cadillac Brougham may be longer by just 2 years. 1916 to 1993.

Yes, the term Brougham was used longer, often in association with different models (almost always as a variant or option-package name). " . . . . the Brougham was a separate model from 1987 through 1992
. . . . " (Wikipedia)

But, as a vehicle name (and still in use)?
