Howdy folks.

I was wondering if any of you have installed or had installed a trailer hitch receiver on your 1964-1966 chevy c10 trucks?

If so, what brand/type/model did you use and how do you like it?

I am researching around for information.

Thanks.

All of them are good in the Class III catagory which is all you'd put on a C10. All truck Equipment shops carry them and UHaul always has a good selection tho' you find a better price online. Brands really don't mean much on these light duty hitches. I've put many brands on in my shop ..never had any problems.

i made my own for my c20 and c10. the one i made for my c20 is real heavy duty. i used heavy channel that surrounds the frame. i can't remember the overall cost, but it was cheaper than a hitch. bought a heavy receiver tube from a trailer supply.

Mine's a Reese. Bolted right on, works good.

If you can't fix it with a hammer and screwdriver, you need a bigger hammer.

I looked at a bunch and decided on Reese (class 3). They feature nice heavy quality and better appearance than most others. I bought a universal fit (adjustable width) and did some minor modification. This voided any warranty, but I don't care, as there is no way it's going to fail. Once I got the width adjusted just right with the bolts provided, I welded it solid and took out the bolts for a cleaner look. Most of it fits real tight tucked behind my 65 suburban bumper, with only the receiver showing. Total cost was about $125.

i bent down a aftermarket factory made hitch on my 66 c20 years ago pulling a bobcat on a trailer. it's a scary thing. most people prob don't load them down, and on a c10 it would prob fishtail down the road if it was loaded too heavy. yes, it was overloaded on tonge weight quite a bit, though. that's why i went all out on the one on my 64 c20 now. i pull a lot of heavy stuff and i don't want to worry about it. the one i made for my 63 stepside is a lot lighter but i won't be doing any heavy towing with it. just maybe my alum enclosed trailer or a smaller one.
