I need help again. Ever since my truck has been in my possession, it has not had a master cylinder. I have one now and just finished up the pedals & brackets where it mounts. Problem?

I have no idea how the brake pedal and the master cylinder link up.

Can someone send me a photo of theirs so I can figure this puzzle out? I'm obviously missing something but I don't know what.

Thanks!
Tim

What size?

IIRC, 3100 and 3600 on up were different animals.

On the 3600 and larger, there is a rod that goes back behind the MC, connects to a pivoting crosspiece, which is connected to the MC plunger.

You stomp on the brakes, the rod moves forward, the crosspiece pivots, which drives the plunger in.

I don't have a camera handy right now, otherwise I'd take a picture.

Pedal bracket will be bolted to the trans. and bellhousing. The master will bolt to that bracket. The pushrod for the master will have a small clevis looking end on it that will hook right to the lower end of the brake pedal. Do you have the pushrod?

Thanks Barry! I knew it had to be pretty simple thing. I was "missing" the clevis looking end: at least I thought I was. I was taking out the garbage tonight and was thinking about your post and looking at the pedal bracket sitting on my bench when a light bulb went on!!!! I remembered I had an old box of misc. parts that came with the truck so I went digging and who'd a thunk? There it was: a "clevis lookin' thing" It fits and works like a charm.

Here's a photo so nobody else ever has to ask this silly question!

Photo of Master Cylindar to Pedal linkage - AKA "the Missing Link"

Thanks again!
