What an awesome site this is!! I have been restoring old military vehicles MVs with my two sons and now we have a 1949 3800 to work on, this truck won't be green or tan but red...

Looking forward to meeting some bolters!

Hi Scott welcome to the 'bolt.
What's up... you're running low on tan and green paint,so you've decided to build something shiny? wink
Nice 3800.....
BTW are the military trucks yours as well?

Welcome aboard Scott. This is the place to be if you have an old iron Chevy thats for sure.
You will get to meet lots and lots of bolters and if you come to the Stovebolt Reunion in Kansas in Sept. you can get to meet quite a few!!

Thats a nice looking pickup you have there. Let us know how we can help.

Hi Scott, welcome. Nice to do the work with your own boys. Looks like it isn't in too bad a shape. If you run stuck, just drop by and ask.

Scott, your truck looks to be in great condition. Where in Nebraska are you located?

Thanks for the feedback guys, yup the 6x6s are mine... all for fun, each year I carry veterans in several parades and the van truck is setup for camping. Really looking forward to working on the 3800, the body is in real good shape but the floor pan will need replaced and I will need to learn how to paint better than motor pool ready like the mvs.

I am in Laurel, 50 clicks SE of Yankton SD or 40 west of Sioux City.

Hey Scott, we've even got U.S.Military stuff over here.
This was less than ten miles from me.
I also see your an ex Navy guy,so you'll fit right in here!
Our very own 'Grand Poobah' John Milliman is also an ex Marine.
I'm not sure if 'ex' is the correct term,from what I gather...once a Marine,always a Marine! thumbs_up

UPDATE

Braved the cold and have the running boards, splash panels and bed off. Have been collecting several parts catalogs, noticed Chevs of the 40s lists roller bearings for the front spindles, has anyone done this to their 1 Ton? Also looking at several different intakes for the 235 (1956 hyd.) was wondering what has worked the best for others.
