I'm from Ontario, just north of the Toronto area and have a 1965 GMC short fleet. It's powered by a 250 inline 6 that I plan to mod instead of just bolting in a small block. I plan to bore the engine .60 over with some head work (lump ports) a cam, header and weber carb set-up. It's backed by a SM420 4-speed that I plan to swap to a 5-speed.

My dad bought the truck in the late 1970's from an Esso station in Saskatchewan for $100 before we moved to Ontario and drove it until the early 1990's when he gave the truck to me. It was pretty rusty so I took it apart and have slowly been restoring it for the past 15 years. The truck was originally a Sask Power work truck, so it is Woodland Green.

I plan to resto mod the truck but keep the original paint colour, including the white bumper and grille. So it will keep the work truck look but lowered on larger wheels.

Welcome shortandwide65. I'm also north of Toronto. Nothing wrong with those 250s, we've had a few of those in our trucks over the years too. Anyways, if you need to know anything, just stop in here and ask.

shortandwide, Welcome to the stovebolt. The right place to be for old Chev. truck lovers. Sounds like a nice project. How about posting us some pictures when you can.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile
