Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!

For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 13 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 13 | I'm from Ontario, just north of the Toronto area and have a 1965 GMC short fleet. It's powered by a 250 inline 6 that I plan to mod instead of just bolting in a small block. I plan to bore the engine .60 over with some head work (lump ports) a cam, header and weber carb set-up. It's backed by a SM420 4-speed that I plan to swap to a 5-speed.
My dad bought the truck in the late 1970's from an Esso station in Saskatchewan for $100 before we moved to Ontario and drove it until the early 1990's when he gave the truck to me. It was pretty rusty so I took it apart and have slowly been restoring it for the past 15 years. The truck was originally a Sask Power work truck, so it is Woodland Green.
I plan to resto mod the truck but keep the original paint colour, including the white bumper and grille. So it will keep the work truck look but lowered on larger wheels.
