Hi, Glenn Smith from Indian River, Ontario, Canada. Just got this 53 suburban, had been looking for either a panel or sedan delivery but came across this. Was a school bus and last on the road in 1979, it has spent many years in a farmers field which is where I got it. No engine or trans but it won't be going stock anyway.53 suburban

Welcome Glenn. Your in good company here. Several guys have suburbans and panels. Lots of good info/knowledge here and guys who do not mine sharing. I'm sure you all will meet up. Good luck and good for you on saving another one from the dreaded "Metal Monster" i.e. the crusher!

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Glenn - if you hit the 'Edit' button under your post you can
take off the extra http:// in your link to make it work

and welcome to the shop from the far left side of the upper bleachers grin

Bill

Thanks Bill, I tried that but I messed it up I guess. Maybe I performed a "colonectomy" on the link because it works when I try it now.

Hey there gcs, so you're just east of Peterborough? I'm an hour west of you. Welcome to this site. You say it used to be a school bus. Many of the school buses from the AD series actually were panels and converted over and looked like suburbans. I can't link to your photo, oops, just tried Bill's 'make it work'. Sure looks like a suburban actually. Maybe someday I can check it out.

Thanks for the info Bill, hope it's a little easier to view now. Great site, sure a lot of good looking trucks and information.
As near as I can tell Leo it's stock. It's originally from Illinois and still has the state inspection sticker on the windshield.
