I'm 15 years old and I'm looking for a project. Would like to get an old chevy truck, but I can't decide what I want to look for, and what i can get for a good price. What would be the best one?

If you can, add pics too grin

The 63-66 are about the best for the money. A lot depends on what you are going to do with it. If you want a good daily driver the 67-72 work the best. If you want a great collector the 55-59 are cool. Stay away from the 60-62. They have a tortion bar front end & are hard to find parts for & the parts can be expensive.

Now Wrenchbender, give me a break!! The '60 thru '62 trucks are great as well!! LOL!! Sure the front assy. parts are harder to find, but think about the challenge....

Also, I thought the '47 thru '55 first series AD Chevy's would be more collectable then the '55-'59. Personal choice I guess.

Try browsing through the 60-66 Gallery. Look over the trucks and find things about each year you like such as quad head lights or, a pair of singles. Wrap around windshield or, flat. Stepside , Fleetside short or long. The list goes on and on. Once you decide, just shop around. And as bowtietim says " look deep before you leap" Sound Advice Indeed.

My friend has a very nice 1966 GMC 910, and thats what got me interested in old trucks. I would like to find the Chevrolet version of this truck. Stepside, 350, long box, and dual headlights

The 64-66 models are the most economical to build. The 63 has a 1 year only grill and the wrap around windsheild,

You are right. They have more value in the price guide, but the 55-59 are close behind & are my preference.
