now i'm merging what i have with a '64 fleet shortbed that has a 305v6 with 4spd. the '64 has a one piece driveline.
do i need a one-piece or two-piece drive shaft on a shortbed with th350 tran?
thanks

The local driveline shop owner tells me a two piece isn't needed unless the driveline's total length will be over 70 inches,u-joint center to center. speed

the slip joint with the current '64 with 4spd config is built into the driveshaft, right behind where the u-joint bolts to tran.
to try to be more clear, i'm moving my 350/350 set-up from my '66 to the '64. along with everything forward of the bed and to include the 12 bolt rear that my '66 has. basicly what i did is strip the '64 and '66 to their frames and i'm bolting the best parts to the '64 frame and bed so i end up with a short bed big window.
fyi; alot of work

But if the 4 speed gets to do the duty, then you need the two piece, Scott
