On mine there is a little "trough" where the gasket lays in on the cowl. The re-pop's may be cork or it could be rubber. There is a drain hose for the cowl vent that comes out at the top, center of the firewall. It's an angled piece of rubber hose about 6" long, and it drains any water that may seep in around the cowl vent.

Samantha If you have a V8, it dumps the water right on top of your distributor!!(Dont ask how I know!)

I would recommend these guys. Steele Rubber. They seem to be the best quality although they're not the cheapest. Re; The drain tube dilemma, it's an easy fix. Just find a piece of rubber hose the same I.D. and make a longer one which can be re-routed out the way of the Dizzy cap.

| | | | | Joined: Aug 2008 Posts: 38 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2008 Posts: 38 | It's popular to do away with that drain hose on trucks with smoothed firewalls and in those cases you have to reroute the hose and have it exit somewhere else. Otherwise it dumps right in the middle of the floor. And you don't have to know how I know that little tidbit either but the firewall looked nice.
