The 207 c.i. in my 1934 Master keeps stalling after it warms up after I've been driving for about five to ten minutes. I've trimmed out the carburetor (set the low speed jet and throttle control). The car will idle fine but once I get it into gear, it stalls out. If so it could be a weak fuel pump (vapor lock). The engine heat vaporizes the fuel and the pump is too weak to overcome it. Just one possibility.

As for the timing, my Dad and I set the timing using a light about six months ago... I had a hard time tracing down the problem so I started to replace or rebuild just about everything bolted to the engine. It ended up being the distributor. I didn't rebuild it I replaced it instead. The distributor is relatively new. We kinda did what Iron Clad did and began replacing parts. I'm thinking it was a vapor lock. I replaced the old fuel pump and the car seems to get past 10 minutes. never know, though. It could still be a distributor on the edge. Working on the '34 is still a blast, though, even with the gremlins. | | |
