I used to think the same about navigating Chevs of the 40s; however, I am now finding it easier to search their site. Moreover, they have continued to expand their product offerings (not just modification parts - their reproduction/replacement parts have expanded).
Have you ever tried (and succeeded) using the search feature n JC's site?

There are lots of good suggestions above for new and reproduction parts. You should also keep up with eBay and Craig's List.
My '41 now has parts from 23 states and two countries. ¾ of them were found right here.
