For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 1,403 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 1,403 | Can anyone give me an estimate of how much it could cost to have a radio rebuilt? Besides the speedometer(broken cable) in the '67 it is the only thing that doesn't work. I know it wouldn't be cheap but neither are newer replacements. If it is warm this weekend I will take it out of the dash and see if it will actually work, it's been out of the truck before or is not original because the wires are spliced. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 | jdl, one of our members does this kind of work. His member name here is justin rubsam. You could send him a PM and see what he says. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 1,403 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 1,403 | Thanks Truckernix. I'll send him a p.m. BILL(does work for Jim Carter's) has p.m.'d me too. Just to up date the situation, the radio does not have any output. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 493 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 493 | I'm pretty sure a 67 was just an AM set. I don't remember for sure but it seems like they were. The early vintage AM and FM sets can get pretty pricey. Ask around someone might have one sitting around that got replaced by one with an 8 track. One that will fit shows up at the Salvation Army store around here now and then. I have seen them go for $5. I missed something what happened to the 54? | | | | | Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 1,403 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 1,403 | If you are wondering what went on with the radio in the '54----I haven't fixed the '54's radio yet because as you may know it is a long way away from needing a radio. Thanks. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | jordan, I think he is asking WHERE is the 54. Some folks reading your post may think you got rid of the 54 in favor of the later model......

I did think you had replaced the 54' with the newer truck. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 1,403 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 1,403 | NO! No way am I ever getting rid of the '54. You don't have to worry about that. I intend to keep that one even if I have to get rid of everything else. | | |
