For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 126 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 126 | Finaly after a very long time and the ups and downs of 5 young ones and the wife, I'm on my way to assembly. Through the wonderful blessing God gave I can move forward with the PG-ADAMS CHASSIS I had to hold off ordering. Though I wanted to follow the similar path as Grigg with diesel power, I just cant get it done. But a very stout 350 and an SM-465 trans and newer axles with better gears makes the idea in the pic below attainable. The chassis will not be the original (STRONGER) and the suspension will be a little different with heavy duty airbags doing the load lifting, I still consisder it "one saved from the death of rust". I'm waiting on the email from PG-ADAMS with quote and dimensions tommorow. Tell me what you think of the photo playing Ive done with the image below. My actual truck is seen in my signature. http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd15/46cabover/thenewtruck.jpg | | | | | Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 54 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 54 | Hey, Have you gotten any clue what kind of a job it's going to be to put that 350 in and auto. I am trying to do the same. Thanks, Jack | | | | | Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 584 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 584 | I like that a lot! Should be a neat, safe toy when it gets rolling and able to go a bit faster too. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 126 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 126 | Thanks Tomcoe, I'm finaly moveing forward again | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 126 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 126 | Install will be a breeze jack02 and hopefully the Novak hydraulic clutch setup will be a success. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 926 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 926 | I always had good luck with the early 60's Chevy truck hydraulic system;they're pretty near bulletproof, but if something does fail parts are readily available. They're adaptable,too-you can install 'em on nearly anything. Speed

Something like maybe a Chevy Top Kick then you could even keep it all Chevrolet | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 126 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 126 | Valuable information (speed 6351) I did not know that. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 126 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 126 | I gave it a realy brief thought because I figured everything would be to large for the small body: Big frame and more. Maybe the top kick I have in mind is incorrect. I remember driveing the old kodiak dump trucks working for the city and some had tandems but If I'm seeing the wrong image help me out because this will not be the only truck that I build and your idea sound nice. | | |
