I anin't a smart man but I don't think it the oil pressure. I will take more pics tonight and post them.

I anin't a smart man but I don't think it the oil pressure. I will take more pics tonight and post them. LOL. Definitely not oil. It would be a 1/8" pipe plug or drain petcock. You can buy at any auto supply.

Ditto on using the petcock- - - -it's a lot easier to drain the block or do a flush by just opening the wing nut valve. BTW, that's not a good place to put the temp gauge. There's an adapter that needs to go to into the hole inthe head, and the temp gauge bulb screws into the adapter. The block thread will leak if you try to put the gauge tube in without the adapter, and the hole in the block isn't big enouth to accept it.

Ive seen the adapter in many of my catalogs one is on order. What can I put in the hole as a temp fix until I get the cab back on the frame.

Just put a little pipe dope or liquid Permatex on the threads as you install it. Some engines use a 3/8" pipe thread instead, so you've got a 50-50 chance of guessing right the first time.
