I have just discovered that my driver side window is too small (definately a replacement). It won't roll all the way up. I have taken off the inside panel and the regulator works great. I need to pull the old window and replace it with glass that fits. How?
Also, I would like to pull the entire door and paint it before I re-weatherstrip the door and window. How do I pull the vent window frame and the vertical post between the roll up window and vent window? Your experience and advice is appreciated.

Oh, the wing window has a few screws on the outer door shell and I think one down low on the inner door at the bottom of the channel.

Also, steel frame around it? That has always puzzled me. Does that mean a physical frame on the glass or are we talking about the track that fits in the upper door channel? My passenger window works great and also looks very original. If you take a look at the top of the glass, it's just glass...no frame.

After looking in my 62 repair manual and taking the passenger inner door off (that's the good window) to compare against the driver window that doesn't close all the way, I discovered it wasn't a short window afterall. I found out that I am missing the sash on my window regulator. Beleive it or not I found the sash at the bottom of the inside of the door. I couldn't reach it, so I had my daughter reach in and pull the sash out. It's in great shape. I probably saved $30 - $60 bucks by not having to buy a new window.
