A horrible clanking sound in the front end after trimming the engine, though. I adjusted the tappets and oiled the top end. The sound is somewhat periodic. Do you notice it when you give it gas.... or let the engine rpm's level out and then accelerate or come off the gas totally?
Those old babbits will rattle ....sometimes for a looooong time before they bite the dirt.

I won an Ebay auction for a set of "235" babbited rods that ended up being described incorrectly. Drop me an IM if you think you need them.
