wave To those who are familiar with my '52 GMC Toto ,I'm glad to report that I found a new ('53) pto that does not leak smile ( never could find a replacement seal for the original one) and I put it to work yesterday. I needed to transport 3 of my Chevy trucks from my friends hay field to my shop bldg. , around a 40 mile round trip ( x 3 trips ) . Like a dummy I was so busy I forgot my camera so Sorry no picks not me . During the course of the day I moved a '47 1 1/2 ton w/ grain blower , a '48 2 ton parts truck , and a '53 2 ton w/hoist . Ran out of gas on the Hwy within site of my bldg. , need to fix that gas gauge , but had my 5 gal.gas can with me so it was more of a embarrassment dang . One LONG day of hauling for poor old TOTO ! But it is Done yahoo . But on a Sad note sometime this spring all these trucks Including TOTO will be sold frown . So it was one last Fun workout for TOTO and me thumbs_up !!! Ed H

Hy DaOzTinman, sorry to read that you couldn't find that seal I gave you the number for, and even sorrier to read that you're selling your fleet, are you retiring from the old truck hobby or what??? I'm glad you had a nice, almost uneventful day of hauling with Toto.

ED, its a nice surprise to hear from you. How the heck have you been doing? Man, all those toys and yet they "have to go". Well make sure you interview prospect owners to insure they go to a good home smile

I was just talking about you today. I had a friend come by the house and of coarse his two kids had to "drive" the pedal car. They had a blast.
Hope your doing fine. Be sure to drop by often.

Thanks 3B for the seal info , just could not find a match, Oh well . I look at any work day that there are no accidents to people/vehicles as a Good day . No unforeseen problems , hangups and general organized chaos as a Unheard of event when dealing with my old trucks . Heck why use them if you don't expect a adventure or two , that's half the fun !!!
Unfortunately the truck hobby has to go ,all good things have to come to a end at some point .
Alvin I'm glad to hear that your mini Chevy is getting a work out , the mini GMC at Mongos is also getting a good workout . I'm not to concerned about where the other trucks end up Except TOTO . Being the only '52 GMC Big Bolt set up as a tilt bed hauler that I have ever heard of makes TOTO a rather unusual if not rare truck so I want her to get a Good home with someone that can afford to keep her up and running maybe even restore her to her former glory .

Ed,

It sure won't be the same around here without you or Toto. I hope you continue to hang out with us. We have some folks who try to make Stovebolt a better place and those who just like to be pot stirrers. You have definitely made Stovebolt.com a better place and I sure appreciate your kind heart and gentle soul. Just remember us when you are somewhere over the Rainbow. We'll still be here playing baseball in Iowa (oops, wrong Movie...) Kansas. Snail Mail to follow.

Regards,
John

Sorry to hear that you're leaving us. You have some neat stuff, and I was looking forward to following your progress. Hopefully, your equipment will end up with other Bolters on the site.

Best of luck in your future endeavors!

Ed, it's with great sadness I hear you're giving up the 'fleet'.
I'm sure it's for a very good reason.
I'm also sure it was a very hard decision for you to make.
Of course you do know you don't need to actually have to own a 'bolt to hang out here!
Your generosity and friendship are second to none, and I wish you and your family well for the future.
I've always enjoyed reading about your adventures in Stoveboltland.
Please, please don't be a stranger and keep in touch.
Regards
Jock

I don't even know Ed, and with all the kind words about him...I already miss him! Good luck with your future endeavors Ed!

And, on a side note, Toto sure is cool. Just make sure you don't get rid of something you'll regret. Friends store things...etc etc....maybe there is another way concerning Toto. Personally, I'll have to keep a few beyond my time here on earth because they bring me too much joy.

All my best! Tom(COE)
