I resently bought some new headlight rims and was wondering if the installation of these clips are covered in the forum? I don't understand how they fit. what makes them attach to the little slot on top of the headlight assembly?

The repop headlight doors for my 53 are not as heavy as the originals especially the wire clips. I had to bend the little buggers to get them to work at all.

If you have a classic parts catalog handy for the 47 to 54 trucks,if not just go to there web page and on the page where they sell the rings, gaskets & clips they have a nice "tutorial" pic. showing the proper install of the clips.

I bought new stainless rings and the lip isn't as large as the originals. the clips don't work properly in my new rings.

Truckernix.... you are dead on! Another case of repop agony! I have the same problem.

.... and the repop folks say "made from original"

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
