It gets in the way of the cap and plug wires. Could I be doing something wrong? I'm thinking the newer cap and coil the previous owner put on were a different size. | | |

The cap and rotor look to be the same except for the height. The older is about an 1 1/2" taller then the newer style. | | |

It is positioned to the rear of distributor a couple of inches. Are you sure you are using the correct mounting holes? Also, I think the book calls for some sealer on the 2 mounting bolts.
