Hi All!! My name is Jim and my son-in-law and I are in the process of restoring a one and one half ton ( 1 1/2 Ton ) 1935 Chevrolet Maple Leaf Truck. We have it off its frame and all sandblasted...the motor has been re-built. Looking forward to hearing from anyone that has one of these trucks also, and to be part of the " stovebolt " family!!

Welcome to the Stovebolt. If you look in the Gallery, you will see some trucks of that vintage. There are techtips on your style of motor and if you use the search engine you will find quite a few postings, I am sure.

Where abouts in Canada are you? I am in Bracebridge Ontario. Lastly, may I say that we really enjoy pictures here so maybe you could post some of your truck.

Hi Jim......there is a fellow named Bobb ( goes by " 3B " ) on this site who knows most everything when it comes to big bolts. If you get stuck, drop him a note

Welcome to Stovebolt. I have 1934 1 1/2ton Chevrolets. I am about the same stage as you in my complete restoration. Please look through my pictures linked below. Glad to have the company.

I second what Britcon said... talk to 3B...

What Britcon didn't tell you is that Bobb has quite a few of these old Maple Leaf trucks in his shop... not sure how many he owns but I'd guess at least 1/2 dozen (at last count he had around 100 old GM trucks stored) and as Bruce says is super knowledgable... he's forgotten more than most "experts" know and if anyone can tell you what you want to know he can... he's a walking enclopedia on these things!

Best of luck on your project! wink

Heel low:

Jim telephoned me today and is looking for a 1935 Leaf heat gauge, tube and plug.

Any leads?

I am waiting for my spouse to come home to see if the 1936 versions will stand in for this. We have six '36's, so if it will work with this year, we should be able to do something for him. :-D
