Also avoid mounting on tires with raised letters, or halfway on the side lettering of the tires, this looks really bad!
If you have no choice, sure but otherwise, I would recommend the real thing

They still look good, nobody knows they're "flappers" unless I tell them. I found the WIDE ones didn't look good but the "mid width" were great and seemed to always hug the tire better. I"m not sure what widths are available now but they use to be at least 2 sizes maybe 3?

Another thing about the portawalls, when you were going 60 or over they would flare out from the tire. Even back then, portawalls weren't the thing!

Actually, it was a YOU-TUBE demonstration.
To start, you need tires with raised white letters.
You can probably guess the rest.
I tried it on an old junk tire i had laying around,,seems to work.
There was lots of people busting veins in their forehead saying
"OH GOD,DONT GRIND ON THE SIDE OF YOUR TIRE".
