Hawker makes the best battery that I know of since they are geared toward military use. http://www.hawkerpowersource.com/ They do offer consumer products as well sold under the Odyssey Battery name/ East-Penn / Deka makes a good battery http://www.eastpenn-deka.com/Lifeline batteries makes a good battery http://www.lifelinebatteries.com/Odyssey Batteries (Enersys) makes a great battery. http://www.odysseybatteries.com/Basically a Odyssey battery will run you about $150 and last you for about 10 years +

They make them for all the different retailers & slap their label on them. Sometimes the middle of the line are better then the real expensive ones. They may have very high CCA ratings but they don't have the staying power. Ive never used Optima but every one Ive seen have been junk. I've seen some Interstate batteries last for many years.

I've only bought ONE....for my truck and the next two were free right close to the 3 year mark! I use the Optima only because I get a 20% discount...BUT since they the price went up recently I think I'll put a DieHard in it next time.
For my 37 I finally went to a DieHard and its been great. I plan to put a DieHard in my panel (hopefully soon!)
EDIT: I am NOT sure about this be before I started on the Optima's I use to run nothing but Delco which I use to get a K-mart.
Has anyone bought one lately..how are they?
