A guy I know says he has a 64 1 ton with dual wheels and swears it is an all original truck. Were duals available on 1 ton trucks back then, from the factory or did someone change out the rear end to make a flat bed dually out of the truck? Thanks for any info.

Duals were always available from the factory,

Most 1-Tons are Dual Wheel Trucks. The Single Rear Wheel 1-Tons are actually kind of rare.

Duals were even an option on 3/4 tons up to around '72.

Duals were standard from the factory on the '60-'66 Chevy/GMC 1 ton trucks. I am not aware of a single wheel configuration on the 1 ton trucks in those years.

All the guide and the shop manuals show duals as an option. I've seen several single wheel 1 tons from that era. The only years I know of the Chevy/GMC 1 tons had duals as standard equipment were the '94-'00, the big block 454 was also standard equipment in those also. But you could get singles and the 350 as a delete credit option.
