I'm planning to replace the front and rear shackles anyway. Never know if the springs are cracked unless you take em off. Since I intended to pull the axle's to replace the torque tube with a later pumpkin and put in new grease grease seals and doing the brake job, I blasted mine with the rear end on it. Then I pulled the torque tube and flushed everything. I also left the front axle on it as I was pulling everything off the front spindle as well.
So, I guess it would depend on what your "next move" is planned to be. Each situations may very.
