GM 36; there was no ratio.
There are marks on the outside of the pumpkin that say
J-08. Without counting teeth, can anyone help me determine ratio? Been told it's from a 75 ish Lemans, and it was set up for coilovers. Thanks

Something like 41-11. Divide the large # by the small # gives you the ratio. There is also a date of man.

J - 08 means that the rear end was made in October of a year ending in 8, like 68, 78, 88. Which means it's a 69, 79, or 89 model year. If the ring gear thread is left hand it's probably an 8.5. the cover shape may also help but I can't remember what's what.
