old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2009 Posts: 36 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: Aug 2009 Posts: 36 | New blood. My name is Tom and have been wanting a classic truck for about 10 years. About a month ago, I picked up a 57 3100 Big window. Pretty good shape, doesnt run, but thats ok. 235 stocker. Dash is perfect, and truck is good. Frame is excellent (from Texas). Believe it to be original. Got original radio in it. I will rely on this website for the knowledge. I know its here. Gonna pursue turbocharged system on the 235 with auto trans. Upgrade the suspension front and rear with power steering and brakes and windows. Basically thats it. Will get pictures when my 9 year old has time to post them. Look forward to all your words of wisdom. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 4,215 Moderator | | Moderator Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 4,215 | Hey Tom, welcome to the site. A long wait is worth it when you end up with a nice truck. Maybe your 9 year old can also help with the wrenching. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | ... the man with the plan. Hey jockbolter, I was stationed in Holy Loch (Dunoon), Scotland in the 80's before they shut the base down. Beautiful country. I am hoping me and the 9 year old will enjoy this project. Hope I get it done before he turns 16. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 3,750 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 3,750 | Lowrider, there's quite a few 'bolters spent time over at the 'Loch',the monsoon season is here just now,but as you know that's pretty much from January to December, with some occasional snow to break up the monotony Glad to see you're trying to drag 'junior' away from the computer and get him involved. 1950 Chevy Advance Design 3100 in ScotlandIn the Stovebolt GalleryMore pix on Flickr.
