For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 331 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 331 | Hey guys,
I just replaced my steel wheels with some ralleys. Which look so much better in my opinion, they are wider too, giving the truck a better stance. I'm considering selling the original 6 lug steel wheels and the hubcaps. Wheels are in good shape, aren't bent or anything, and the caps are ok-ish. They are a bit dented up, and have some rust on them, especially on the insides. But I don't know if these parts are really worth anything. Do you guys think they are?? | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | To the bolter who has none they will mean everything. Put an ad in the swap meet "Parts for Sale". Just a few days ago I think someone was looking for some for a 60'ish model. Don't throw them away!!! | | | | | Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 45 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 45 | I'm searching for some hubcaps that are 'not perfect'...could ya send me some pics please? Doug | | | | | Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 95 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 95 | I've been looking awhile for a nice set with no curb damage or rust. Would prefer factory paint too. To me, they are worth twenty bucks each for a set of five ($100). They are not rare, but to find a set (5) has been harder than expected. Too bad you are so far away as shipping cost would kill any deal. Anyway, don't just toss 'em. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 331 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 331 | Hmm, ok, so they are worth something. Well, the rims have several layers of paint on them, one has a small curb dent, but can be banged out. Doug, I'll get some pics of those hubcaps as soon as I can...they definitely aren't perfect, but aren't really that bad either. They are original 1961 caps I believe... | | | | | Joined: Aug 2000 Posts: 800 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2000 Posts: 800 | Shipping expensive? Go Greyhound. And it seems as though the regular guys are coming down in price as well. | | |
