When I took my axle out someone had bent all of the tangs. I don't need to do that do I? That way it saves the lock for future services, Scott | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 1,997 Big Bolt Forum Co-moderator | | Big Bolt Forum Co-moderator Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 1,997 | Being a newbie, I am not sure what the lock ring is suppose to look like. Mine has a small tab for the slot on the rear axle, two short inner tabs and the rest are long tabs, bent at 90° to fit over the lock nut. What I did was put the lock ring on the axle, one of the short inside tabs lined up with a notch in the adjusting nut so I pushed it into the slot, one of the longer tabs bent at 90° lined up with the outer lock nut so I bent that into the slot. That seems to make sense to me.
