I have been here before, but it has been quite awhile. I still have the same '53 5 window 1/2 ton that I have been dragging with me for over 8 yrs. now. I don't recall my past screen name or password and I am not sure if it still existed, so I figure just start a new profile. Well now that I am back I am here to stay. I currently own a 1950 3/4 ton 3 window, a 1953 1/2 ton 5 window, and a cab for what I was told might be 1951 - '53 3 window. My plans are to make the doors longer on the '50 by using the rear half of the '53 and by doing this I will be able to have leg room. Being 6' 7" makes it a bit challanging to drive a stock truck. So that's how I came up with my screen name this time around. 5/8 ton.

Hi 5/8ton glad you found your way back.
I can't remember just now,but a fellow bolter has done a cab stretch and made a mighty fine job of it too!

Hopefully someone else will chime in with his name.
His build pics might be a valuable resource for you.

Some other 'lofty' bolters have re-located the gas tank to allow the seat to move back further.
I don't know how i'll get on with mine,I haven't driven it yet and i'm only 6'4"!

I have a pm sent to Tomy2tone01. After looking at those pictures I feel much more excited about making this project real. Thanks for the help guys. I will have some large footsteps to follow after seeing his truck. I hope mine comes out that nice.

Wow how projects change. I traded the 50 3/4 ton for a 48 cab that I put onto the 53 frame. Cut up the 53 cab and sold off some parts. Traded the 48 cab and 53 frame for a 58 truck. Wished I didnt. Bought my 47 daily driver and bought a 47 coe.

Keeping the 47 stock for the most part but keeping the mechanicals updated by replacing worn out parts. Have not touched the cab over. Not sure if I want to swap frames or not.
