Did you mean the local auto parts store like Auto Zone or NAPA?? Grainger or McMaster don't have any listings. The only place that I have found 6v motors that are the same as the original was at Chevs of the 40's and they are big bucks, listed as NOS. If I bought one from a/the swap meet it would be subject to the same problems mine already has, i.e., dry bearings, filthy inside in need of dissasembly and cleaning, brushes worn and in need of replacement and comutator needing turning.

It will be for their Temperature control line of parts. It lists the part numbers by dimensions & specifications.

It is a good looking motor, runs well and the wiring is sharp. Paid $100, including S/H. He is very helpful. He advertises in Hemmings. He splits time between homes in Ontario and Florida. Make sure the Car & Truck Shop 6v heater is for the Fresh Air Heater and ask them if you should have to make any adaptations to get it to fit/work. They are a good company and should be able to give a correct answer (they will also take parts back).
If you buy that 6v motor, please let us know if it works.
