I'm refering to the bulkhead connector, where the engine compartment wires connect to the cab. The bulkhead connector has a big rubber grommet around it and I don't know how to separate the two, so I can remove the connector. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 121 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 121 | The electrical connector has a lip around it that fits into a slot on the rubber grommet. The rubber is probably rock-solid with age. I worked the grommet & connector as an assembly out of the firewall and then had to carefully cut the gommet off the connector. New grommets were available for my 66. The quality isn't as good as the original so when I re-installed the connector & new grommet into the firewall I used some sealant around it.

Did you remove it into the cab or into the engine compartment? | | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 121 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 121 | Unplug the two (upper should be hood lamps, lower is alternator/headlamp etc harnesses) connectors that attach to it under the hood then pull it back into the cab. The connector is part of the harness inside the cab.
