Having trouble with a title; the seller had lost it years ago and I accepted an IOU. Now he's had a succession of eye infections and surgeries and I don't know when he will drag himself to DMV and apply for a dupe. Read some old posts about International Title in Vegas as being a reliable fixer; wondering if anybody had recent experience...thanks, Ray

How about filing for a mechanics lein. Since you have several hundred dollars invested (right??) in mechanical work. Tell the "technical" owner to ignore it, and the state will send a title to you after non payment of the bills that you submit for the work you have done. That might work differently in different states also.

all states are different. but trying to go thru all the read tape will just get you frustrated here in mo. it's a lot easier to go thru a title co. good luck, the title co should be able to tell you if they can help you.
