Just grind out the old rivets and replace with some Grade 8 nuts & bolts. Thats how we did our replacement shock tower. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2007 Posts: 610 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2007 Posts: 610 | Thanks, I figured it wasn't too hard but I never know what surprises I will run into. I already had some fun with rivets on this truck, I had to move the rear crossmember back about 3 inches to make room for my gas tank that I mounted behind the rear axle. Rivets arn't too bad, I first use a cutoff wheel and cut a X into the head of the rivet and then use a air chisel and remove the head. Then just punch it out.
