Anybody here had first hand experience putting a 63-66 GMC hood on a '64, 65 or 66 Chevy C10?

Is this a simple bolt on deal or are modifications required?

Thanks,

John

Simple bolt on deal, hood is the same as a chevy. Only difference in the hoods is the turn signal lights

I know a Chevy hood fits well on a GMC, should work the other way too,

it will bolt up no problem, the only thing that you may have to do is adjust the center screw, i know you have to to swap out a 60-61 to a 62-66 hood.
John, hope to see you at the swapmeet (goodguys)next weekend.

Thanks for the advice guys.

RJ, Would you happen to have any GMC Hoods? And do you know when the other swap meet is at The Ranch later in the season?

I don't do the Goodguys thing anymore. Its a principal thing: they charge the guys in the cars and trucks more than the people walking off the streets. No cars - no event.

Back when I lived in Ohio we would go to the Goodguys event at Indianapolis Raceway Park. That was cool 'cause the particpants could drag race also.

I guess when it comes right down to it I'd rather put the money towards wrenching or cruising my ride than looking at other peoples.

Am I turning into an old fart? not me

John

the whole tin section where the parking lights set in is uniquly different from where a chevy is fairly streamlined around the hood latch to the parking lights a gmc has more of a customised frenched look to it, same with the 60-61 gmc to chevy apache hood, while the hood itself the same the whole front tin secton is uniquly different from a gmc to a chevy but as well the hood will fit with no problem, however there might be some problems with switching over from 61 and back to 62 and up from the shape of the hood itself but on that I am not sure.
